Company Heritage
Navistar has a long history in the engine business, dating back more than 110 years. It began with Cyrus McCormick and the McCormick Harvesting Company in the late 1800s, producing its first gasoline engine in 1889. Shortly after the turn of the century, McCormick Harvesting Company joined with four others to create International Harvester. As business continued to improve, the company began experimenting with diesel engines in 1916. Read more

Navistar agrees with the official position of the Engine Manufacturers Association (EMA) on the use of biodiesel fuel and unconditionally warrants the use of biodiesel blends up to and including B5 meeting ASTM D6751 and ASTM D975 specifications. Read more
