About Navistar Engine Group

Navistar Engine Group is a global leader in diesel engine production, offering a lineup of high-performance diesel engines from 50–475 hp (37–354 kW). The company commands 42 percent of the midrange diesel engine market and 64 percent of the school bus engine market in North America. In South America, Navistar Engine Group commands more than 50 percent market share of the mid-size pickup and SUV segment and accounts for nearly 40 percent of all commercial and consumer diesel engines produced. In addition, recent joint ventures have increased Navistar’s growth on other continents, especially in Europe.

Navistar provides its high performance diesel engines to an array of global customers including Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Volkswagen, Nissan, Volvo and Land Rover for use in commercial trucks, pickups, vans and sport utility vehicles. Navistar also produces diesel powerplants for commercial and passenger marine vessels, agricultural equipment, construction vehicles and a variety of other off-road vehicles and equipment.

Navistar currently operates six engine-manufacturing plants around the world. It produces in-line six-cylinder diesels in Melrose Park, Illinois (USA); V8 turbodiesels in Indianapolis, Indiana (USA); V8 and V6 powerplants in Huntsville, Alabama (USA); in-line four- and six-cylinder diesels in Santo Amaro, Sao Paulo (Brazil); in-line four-cylinder engines in Jesus Maria, Cordoba (Argentina); and in-line four-cylinder diesel in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sol (Brazil). The South American facilities operate as MWM International Industria de Motores da America do Sul Ltda., a wholly owned subsidiary of Navistar.
